Why does it take weeks?
We do not keep finished stock. Your piece is cut from a beam after you order, joined, pegged and oiled, and the oil needs time to cure before it travels.
Is every piece really from an old beam?
Yes. Each beam gets a number when it arrives, and that number, its year and its village are burnt into the underside of every piece made from it.
Will my piece look exactly like the photo?
The shape and finish will. The grain, nail holes and checks will be different, because they come from your beam.
Can you make a piece longer or shorter?
Tables, benches and shelves can be cut to the centimetre up to 280 cm. Send the measurements and we reply with a drawing and a price within two working days.
Can I see the wood before I order?
You can visit the workshop on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment. We can also post a small oiled sample of each finish.
Do you deliver outside France?
Yes, to Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. We quote delivery by email after you order.
Can I pay in two parts?
Yes. At checkout, choose the 30% deposit. You pay the rest when we book your delivery week.
What if a joint loosens?
We fix it, at no cost, for ten years from delivery.
